Editing for people: From "about us" to "for you"
This provider of consulting and technology solutions for equity compensation compliance asked me if I could rewrite its brochure content in advance of an upcoming tradeshow. Of course I could!
The original brochure content was affected by the same ills that plague many promotional brochures today:
- Predominantly written in the third person, and thus difficult and uninviting to read
- Lack of headings to help readers navigate through the content
- About the company instead of about the reader
