Whether you're getting ready to produce new marketing collateral or update your old materials, or if you're wondering what type of collateral you need in the first place, you might want to consider whether you need a copywriter only, or a copywriter who also acts as a marketing consultant. Customer Interviews

Ever wonder what your customers really think about your products or services? Or how your prospects will respond to a new product or service you're planning to market? Customer interviews let you find out.

Before creating your marketing collateral, The Write Idea will interview a selection of your customers or prospects to discover what really motivates them to buy what you're selling. That information lets you prepare the types of materials your customers and prospects tell you they want, presented in a way that meets their buying requirements.

Why is this important? Well, would you rather tell your customers what YOU THINK they want to hear in your marketing materials, or would you rather tell them what THEY SAY they want to hear?

It's easy to draw out this information by asking a series of pointed questions about their experiences before, during and after the purchase of what you're selling, or something similar to what you're selling.

My fee for Customer Interviews begins with an initial fee of between $500 and $1,500, and then $250 per interview. What you get for your money is an in-depth knowledge of what's on your customers' and prospects' minds: their fears, concerns, objections to buying, complaints, desires and so on. We will collaboratively develop the interview questionnaire so you learn what's important to you.  For your records, I'll deliver a formal report, either in print or electronic format, which captures and summarizes their responses. And of course, I'll incorporate the findings into your marketing collateral, making them much more potent, palatable and persuasive.

Competitor Shopping

Want to know exactly what your competition is up to? Want to know how they handle each step of their sales process? Want to uncover their strengths and weaknesses, and see where you can do better? Then you might be interested in The Write Idea's Competitor Shopping service.

I will pose as a prospect for your competitors' products or services and go as far through the sales cycles as I can. You, in turn, will be able to use the information I gather to shore up weak areas in your sales process, or to develop new or refine your existing collateral.

You'll receive the results by way of a formal report, either in a print or electronic format. And if you're hiring me to write your collateral, I'll incorporate the results and help you show your customers and prospects exactly how and why you're better.

Testimonial Gathering

Nothing, in my humble opinion, carries more weight in your collateral than testimonials from satisfied customers. I'll interview yours, gather comments, get approval from your customers to use the final pieces, and then deliver the testimonials to you. And as a matter of course, I'll show you exactly how and where to use them in your collateral for maximum impact.

My fee for Testimonial Gathering is $250 per testimonial.
